Better yet, what has
happened to the Grand Old Party (GOP)? A group of hijackers calling themselves
conservatives, have made a mockery out of a serious political party, created by
anti-slavery activists in 1854, and run by President Abraham Lincoln is in
trouble! Unfortunately, the tarnishing of the Republican brand is
decades in the making, which is disappointing because true
conservative Republicans with honor, grace, dignity and intellectual capital
are longing to be a part of the dialogue. Great minds, like President Nixon,
with brilliant ideas and courage, are yester year. Yes, I know, he was a crook,
and the creator of the southern strategy, but he would not have been a member
of this 21st century political circus that we are witnessing. How about Colin
Powell, moderate Republican, military man, and revered leader, where is he? Out
of the spot light in disgust, to be sure. After all, we see the Republican Party
looking more and more each day like Barnum & Bailey Ringling Brothers
Circus (Lol). Nevertheless, as the adage goes, "when you allow the
children to stay up pass their bedtime, ALL havoc will wreak!" As such,
the children, or (cast of characters), which contribute to the degradation of
the Republican party include the media, the Tea party, the Birther's, Donald
the Chump Trump, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Liz
Cheney, Christine O'Donnell and other ideological idiots. Show business over
substance in a time when families struggle to feed their children is reprehensible.
Moreover, a dummied-down political process is what the American people have
been privy to for some time. In fact, it was just under a magnifying glass during
President Obama's campaign in 2008. Subsequently, the other children
in the room are the presumed Republican presidential candidates. Former
candidate Herman Cain, Michelle scary extremist' Bachman, Ron Paul, Mitt 'phony' Romney, Rick the not-so smart Texas, Governor' Perry and Newt the bigot liar' Gingrich think that the American people like to see show business over
substance, and they too have dummied-down the political process. I ask the question, are
we going to see a flying monkey throw his or her hat in the Barnum
& Bailey Circus next? (Lol). Quite, insulting to one’s intelligence!
In fact, more insulting is the leadership of Republican Senate
Minority leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker John Boehner, and Majority
leader Eric Cantor. I am sure that President Lincoln and Reagan would be proud of em'. Not! In fact, the Grand Old, Party (GOP); not so GRAND anymore.
