When I received the Ten-Day MBA in my email, I just thought, “Wow, is everything about short cuts?” I am currently pursuing my MBA, and the idea of someone trying to downplay what it takes to complete the program, was offensive! Notwithstanding, I have stayed up all night preparing for the final exam, written over 200+ papers, researched and researched instructors suggested rubric’s, met with diverse Learning Team Members (and their attitudes), to complete class projects, and worked my butt off to graduate with distinction in June 2011. Therefore, in my opinion, the tenacity, perseverance, and final accomplishment of walking down the aisle to graduate, cannot be surmised in a 50-page book! The MBA experience has been a transformational one, to be sure, and I am so lucky to have been able to participate in the campus instruction. Having said that, I enjoyed reading the Ten-Day MBA book, and I can honestly say that the book is an excellent refresher for an MBA graduate. However, in no way does this book take the place of physically participating in an MBA program, nor do I think that is the intent. Conversely, the book is a quick read, and if the desire to pursue an MBA is not on the agenda, this book will provide a snapshot of the program. I ask the question: “are we a society always looking for short cuts? Have we become complacent when it comes to educating ourselves?"
