Welcome to My Journey, I am Eunece V. Franklin, and this is "A Day in the Life of." I started my journey by "blogging" about my MBA pursuit (with an emphasis in Marketing). However, I have achieved that goal, and now invite you to follow me on my career journey. I am quite excited about the various opportunities that exist, and I would like to thank my parents, siblings, and friends, for their unwavering support. I invite you to follow me on this adventure as I continue to nourish my intellectual curiosity and open the doors for you to sneak a peek in, "A Day in the Life."

Pursue your passion...It's never too late!

It was 3:30 a.m, and I began to tire from studying for a law midterm, so I decided to take a break, drink a little coffee, and watch Olympic Gold medalist, Usain Bolt, break world records in track and field one last time. Interestingly, I witnessed an inspiring story on television that I thought I would share. In fact, to my surprise, this is the type of "happy ending" story that one rarely will ever see the media report. (lol) Nevertheless, Mr. Will Allen, founder and Chief Executive Officer of "Growing Power" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is an "Urban Farmer." He has over 200 acres, and is currently farming over 150 types of produce where he sells to restaurants, schools, and residents. However, the caveat to the story is that he purchased the last piece of farmland in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (in the heart of the hood). Further, his two main accomplishments: "He employs over 100 people, and his dream was to grow healthy food to provide to the inner-city". More important, in 2011, his revenue was $5m. Get the picture? (lol)

Founder, CEO, entrepreneur, and Farmer, Will Allen says, "It's never too late to change careers to pursue your passion. In fact, his business philosophy is that everybody deserves access to good, healthy food, regardless of your economic status." Absolutely! Well done, Mr. Allen. Check out his amazing story, and read Mr. Allen's book, 'The Good Food Revolution.' It is a story that will motivate and inspire entrepreneurs because Mr. Allen reflects the strength of character that makes one proud to be an American. Happy Friday. Enjoy! Growing Power

Wow. I love stories like this! Thanks, CBS Morning News...
