2012' is already off to a great start, and I cannot wait to see what direction my personal and professional life is heading towards. In fact, the day was gratifying when two 20 year olds (young enough to be my sons) tried flirting with me (lol). Quite flattering and both young men were polite, masculine, articulate, educated, and well groomed. More important, no baby-mama drama, pants sagging, two earrings in the ear, and body piercings were present, which is quite disturbing, in my opinion. Nonetheless, I explained to the young men my reservations, and that they were young enough to be my sons. Of course, the young men stood with shock on their faces when they learned of my age and asked if I had any daughters or nieces as we shared a bit of laughter. Interestingly enough, I think if I did have a daughter I would feel comfortable with her dating one of these guys.
Therefore, to ALL the young sistas's out there who took the time to share with me their thoughts of there being no more "good black men in Chicago"...you are wrong because I met two bright young men today! Just believe, be patient, do not settle for less (hold out for the best) and ask your GOD to bring the man that will fulfill your destiny (and you his) TENFOLD; and make sure that the two of you are 'evenly yoked'! :)
