Resume Accomplishments or Duties...Which one gets you the interview?

That's me: ISU campus (many moons ago) hanging out with my sorority sisters :)
I was reminded this morning by one of my sorority sisters: "Eunece, as the president of the sorority, you managed projects when you were an undergraduate at Illinois State University."  Good point! I guess one takes life/social experiences for granted. However, when you write your resume and cover letter, do not overlook your everyday accomplishments.  I ask the question: "What do you classify as an accomplishment, rather than a duty?" This is vital to understand, because you want ACCOMPLISHMENTS on your resume, not duties. Case in point: My project management skills are starting to look quite fierce! (lol)

Check out this great article to help guide you as you construct that winning resume. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/career/quick-resume-tip-list-accomplishments-not-duties/1821
Enjoy!
