Welcome to My Journey, I am Eunece V. Franklin, and this is "A Day in the Life of." I started my journey by "blogging" about my MBA pursuit (with an emphasis in Marketing). However, I have achieved that goal, and now invite you to follow me on my career journey. I am quite excited about the various opportunities that exist, and I would like to thank my parents, siblings, and friends, for their unwavering support. I invite you to follow me on this adventure as I continue to nourish my intellectual curiosity and open the doors for you to sneak a peek in, "A Day in the Life."

Courage!

Without thinking too much about it in specific terms, I was showing the America I knew and observed to others who might not have noticed
-Norman Rockwell (1894-1978)
In  1963, the talented Norman Rockwell depicted civil rights icon, Ruby Bridges, six years old, attending her first day of school. Worth mentioning, Ruby had no idea of the turmoil (desegregation) surrounding her that day. In doing so, Mr. Rockwell was able to capture Ms. Bridges innocence as she was escorted by federal marshals to school. In fact, what makes Mr. Rockwell's paintings so appealing is the fact that he painted with a conscience. His illustrations depicted civil rights, entry to space, and poverty so masterfully that it earned him the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal.

I salute you Mr. Norman Rockwell and Ms. Ruby Bridges for your courage, and for paving the way for moi...seven years later! I ask the question: Is the old saying "if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything" applicable today?" In my opinion, ABSOLUTELY! Check out this video of Ms. Bridges as she has an opportunity to meet President Obama, and reminisce about a tumultuous era in American history.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajE9G4aUJRA
