Welcome to My Journey, I am Eunece V. Franklin, and this is "A Day in the Life of." I started my journey by "blogging" about my MBA pursuit (with an emphasis in Marketing). However, I have achieved that goal, and now invite you to follow me on my career journey. I am quite excited about the various opportunities that exist, and I would like to thank my parents, siblings, and friends, for their unwavering support. I invite you to follow me on this adventure as I continue to nourish my intellectual curiosity and open the doors for you to sneak a peek in, "A Day in the Life."

Thank Goodness for "OBAMACARE"...

When my dad rushed my mother to the emergency room a couple of weeks ago, all I could think about was how fortunate we were to have healthcare insurance. I thought about how my dad, an army veteran, retired, and a man of honor must have felt to see his soul mate of 58 years; gravely ill, weak and helpless, and patiently await the doctors at the 'Baptist Hospital' (in the Magnolia state) care for her. Further, for the first time, I understood why President Obama fought so tirelessly to pass the "Affordable Care Act." You see, when you grow up watching your parents work hard so that they could send their children to college, or witness your parents take care of their elderly parents, President Obama is absolutely correct, "It is about the dignity of taking care of your family in a time of need." Moreover, I dare not even imagine what might have happened had my parents not had health insurance, or God forbid, if they had reached a "life-time" cap in health insurance.

So when I hear idiotic, political commentary (against) Obamacare, or right-wing rhetoric speak against Medicare for our seniors, it's personal for me! In fact, I am sure for anyone that has a loved one with a medical condition, particularly elderly parents, you understand the urgency, and the importance of healthcare insurance for ALL in our great nation. My heartfelt "thanks" go out to President Obama for having the courage to tackle "Healthcare" reform in his first term. It may have not been the most popular thing to do, but it was the RIGHT thing to do...
